Analytics
Web Analytics (Reporting)
Web analytics can give you the power to know who your visitors are and how they interact with your site. Reports provide feedback on the activities and events of your visitors and gauge you on how effective your site is. This is a great tool to measure you return on investment (ROI).
When hosting your website with Build9 we provide analytic reports that are emailed to you in PDF format at the end of each month.
The detailed reports contain information about:
  • Unique visitors
  • Activity statistics
  • Accessed files
  • Paths through the site
  • Information about referring pages
  • Search Engines and Key words
  • Type and version or bowsers used
  • Operating Systems

Analytics reporting is intergrated with our hosting plans.

About SEO
Search Engine Optimisation Overview (SEO)
A site that is structured towards SEO will increase targeted traffic to your website through search engines like Google and Yahoo. A combination of keywords, clear content, and site structure will generate popularity and increase your search rankings.
Link Popularity
Link popularity is the most influential factor for determining how well a web site will perform in search engine rankings. A web site's link popularity is determined from the number of links, and more importantly, the quality of links pointing to a web site.
The most powerful way to get inbound links is to have great site content that other web sites will want to link to. This allows you to get links from sites other than directories, which can definitely be better.
Naturally your sites strength in appeal, ease of navigation, and good content will determine how this evolves.

Key words
Defining words and phrases are the initial stages of building your site. These key words and phrases should be used within your site content. Attracting the right visitors contribute to your link popularity, and more importantly, attract an audience that are most likely to convert into leads, customers, etc.
Content
Search engines look for text content. Your site structure should have the most semantically relevant information higher up in the site content, and each page on your site should use structural elements like heading and paragraphs to indicate what's most important. So when it comes building your content you should keep this in mind.
Coding and Structure
Site coding must comply with current W3C standards. This creates a site that a search engine can easily read and add to its index, and gives the best long-term results. A well-coded site forms the basis for a successful campaign with a high ratio of content to code.

SEO-Flash
Search Engines and Flash
Google has recently rolled out new technology that incorporates the reading of flash files into its search engine. Although this maybe true it is not yet a trusted system for optimisation.(open Article)
It is important to understand that Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is a critical part when directing users to your website.
The below diagram illustrates how we intergrate Flash and SEO.

Our approach
Our approach is ‘prevention is better than a cure’. If it is not yet proven that flash websites can be easily read by search engines then we provide alternative options for this information to be available.
We do this by building the site with information external to the flash file. This has two benefits.
Firstly, by using simple text files and XML to hold information the client can now update content live at any time. You are no longer dependant on the developer to update the content, reducing time and costs.
Secondly, the information updated in these files (externally from flash) can now be made available to search engines. We do this by creating a duplicate site using traditional HTML coding that can be easily indexed by search engines.
